Seeing the exhibition Zdravje bolnikov (Health of patients) gives you an insight of knowledge and wisdom of simple country population. In the past, when faraway places did not have access to medical care, the people help themselves with simple, natural, homemade medicine, and with knowledge and advice that the folk healer possessed. Today’s trend in many places is back to nature, also in medicine and pharmacy. Exhibition is for those, who respect the past, knowledge of our ancestors and for those, who are interested in natural medicine, methods and healthy way of life.
Upgrade of the exhibition Zdravje bolnikov (Health of patients) is Fida’s grove (Fidov gaj). Fida’s grove is a garden of medicine plants, based on the book Zdravje bolnikov (Health of patients) that lies on the ideal forest clearing and contains more than 70 medicine plants. Besides medicine plants there is a clear spring water and mysterious underground cave called Fidova zijalka. The cave was the refuge for Vid Strgar and his wife for 9 years. By listening to the stories, visiting the garden, the cave and having refreshments, you can get to know the life story and faith of the folk healer, scholar and miracle worker Vid Strgar – Fida, which is presented to you by a tour guide.
